How can I make sure I fill out the petition correctly?

Some of the most common issues we have discovered:
1. DO NOT separate the petition. All three pages must be attached for the Secretary of State to accept the signatures.
2. Ensure that the Circulator portion at the bottom of the petition is filled out before you return it.
3. Yes, you can both sign a petition and be the circulator of the petition.
4. Each petition can only have registered voters in one county sign it. If there are others from another county wishing to sign, they will need to on a separate petition
5. Ditto marks are not allowed.
6. Ensure that each signer is putting the date they signed the petition, not their birth date.
7. If there is a mistake, you can draw a line through the mistaken signature. This will not invalidate any other signatures on the page.

When are the petitions due back?

Petitions need to be in our hands by Tuesday, June 21st. If you are mailing in the petitions, please ensure you put them in the mail by Thursday, June 16th to make sure they get back to us in time.

How can I get a petition?

There are a few ways to get a petition.
1. Request a petition by filling out the form here.
2. Visit a hub that has petitions for you to sign or take and get friends to sign. Hubs are listed here.
